Joel along with other members of our leadership team took a long road trip to visit some of our works that are farther out. \u00a0They decided to do this by road as it would allow them all to go and allow for multiple stops. \u00a0It was a three day drive through three different countries, but it all went really smoothly.<\/p>\n

Since it is not often that so many of our leadership team are\u00a0together, they decided to advantage of the time and use the HOURS in the car to discuss decisions needing to be made. \u00a0They titled these meetings the Mobile Meetings.<\/p>\n

The first stop was in Southern Senegal to meet with two local believers who are interested in being involved in ministry\u00a0–\u00a0but I already talked about that in my last post. \u00a0So it is for this reason that we are starting with the second stop which brought them to a village work in Ivory Coast.<\/p>\n

The couple in the middle were actually some of our teachers while we were in training. \u00a0They had to leave their village because of war over 10 years ago. \u00a0When they left they had baby believers who\u00a0only had some scripture portions and the first phase of Bible\u00a0teaching done in their language. \u00a0Now, years later they are returning to continue the work. \u00a0What is amazing is that even with the little resources and teaching these believer have had, they have demonstrated a hunger like few others. \u00a0The fear when leaving with a\u00a0church so young was that it would get torn apart, but the reality is that God has continued to work even in the absence of workers among them. \u00a0They have taught through those same lessons over and over again and those who have remained are\u00a0over 100 believers. \u00a0They are so hungry for more resources in their language and couldn’t be more excited to have these workers back among them to help them grow in their faith.<\/p>\n

After years of being away the transition back has been difficult<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

However it was encouraging to them to get a visit so soon after returning<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It was a time to listen to their story and affirm what God is doing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

There was a lot of work to do as their house had been vacant for so many years<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Joel and Norbert helped get their solar panels up and running.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

They toured the village,<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"saw
saw daily life activities,<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"and
and met all the precious people they work with<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

After being there for 2 days, it was time to pack up and continue on to the next stop.<\/p>\n

However, before we continue on to the next stop in our travels I encourage you to take a moment right now to pray for Vern and Denny as they adjust back to life in the village and try to pick up translation and teaching. \u00a0Pray as well for this young church that they would continue to to grow in their faith and their desire to reach the others around them who are still trapped in darkness.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
