Our kids have the amazing opportunity of growing up in Senegal. \u00a0It is true that there are challenges they face with the constant transitions and good byes. \u00a0They are part of many worlds and cultures and yet not fully part of any. \u00a0However we love celebrating with them some of the fun parts of life.<\/p>\n

Life here is about learning new things…<\/p>\n

They did a season of soccer<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
To learn some basics that and try to keep up<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
They had drum lessons<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
To learn another skill for life here<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
They were superstars in their French schooling<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
There might not be Halloween<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
But they get to dress up on random other days at school<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
They participated in wedding celebrations<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
And in other events at church<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Living here means sticking out! \u00a0Occasionally there are times that has its advantages. \u00a0These are pictures of a recent parade where everyone was happy to have the two foreigners come over for a picture.<\/p>\n

They might stick out here<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
But sometimes that gives you special opportunities<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
To get behind the scenes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
And up close to the independence day parade<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This term our field put on multiple workshops. \u00a0These events are so important because it is a time for our kids to actually gather together and for a short time be in a place where they fully belong.<\/p>\n

Our kids love these times together!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

As we prepare to go our kids have mixed emotions. \u00a0They are excited to see family and friends, but also sad to leave family and friends. \u00a0It is the reality of life for them.<\/p>\n

They are sad to leave their friends<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
Their home<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
And a way of life that is comfortable<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
But I know there is a lot that they are looking forward to<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"\"
As we hop over the other part of their world.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

So pray for our boys as they transition and explore the other world that is part of them.<\/p>\n
