{"id":1537,"date":"2020-12-04T11:39:10","date_gmt":"2020-12-04T16:39:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joel-potter\/?p=1537"},"modified":"2020-12-04T11:39:13","modified_gmt":"2020-12-04T16:39:13","slug":"quick-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joel-potter\/2020\/12\/04\/quick-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Quick Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How are our kids doing?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At this moment, the kids are doing well.\u00a0We\u2019ve\u00a0kept\u00a0just enough semblance of sanity with Jack being at in-person student at his school (he only physically goes to class two days a week and does the rest of his classwork from home) and Owen and Kate both being virtual at the charter school\u00a0they\u2019ve\u00a0been a part of\u00a0their\u00a0entire education.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0been tougher for those two as\u00a0they\u2019re\u00a0both\u00a0social\u00a0kids. But\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0been able to keep Owen in Track and Field and\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0helped.\u00a0<em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">We were\u00a0really hoping all three kids could be \u201cin-person\u201d in January after the Christmas break but it&#8217;s not looking likely. Kate is almost a middle-schooler and Jack is almost a 16 year old driver&#8230;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How are we adults doing?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re&nbsp;doing&nbsp;OK&nbsp;as well.&nbsp;It\u2019s&nbsp;been up and down for us just like it has been for you.&nbsp;It\u2019s&nbsp;easy to normalize what&nbsp;seemed like&nbsp;crazy and out of the ordinary back in March and April, but&nbsp;it\u2019s&nbsp;also easy to forget how much the pandemic and its effects still weigh on us in the background. And even though, without the Pandemic, I, Joel, would still be working from home with our new ministry role, the adjustment to that has had challenges.&nbsp;I\u2019ve&nbsp;had a private office on a quiet floor at the Ethnos360 home office building\/s for the last 8 years, so the adjustment has been a little bumpy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, thanks to\u00a0the ever-present grace from above,\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0doing OK. We have appreciated some of the activity dampening effects the pandemic has brought. It has also led to a more rapid decline in Lynn\u2019s condition.\u00a0She\u2019s\u00a0moved into more of the middle-stages of her walk with Alzheimer\u2019s Disease and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0quite hard at times as caregivers and of course, on her. But\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0still squarely\u00a0in\u00a0the stage where\u00a0she\u2019s\u00a0able to live and function well at home without a lot of\u00a0additional\u00a0physical care. <em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">We\u00a0covet\u00a0your prayers as we\u00a0give\u00a0care. Owen just finished shortened versions of Cross Country and Track and Field seasons.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-medium-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background\"><strong>Well, this will wrap things up for now.
