I never in my life thought that I would have my name and the word “solder” in the same sentence. Then again, just two weeks ago, I didn’t even know what soldering was or how to spell it (and that’s saying something). But here it is: I learned how to solder<\/em>. For reals!<\/p>\n

One of our first classes in our second semester here at the MTC is Missionary Technology<\/strong>. The class teaches us more than we ever wanted to know about using technology in remote places: solar panels, battery use, wiring a house… all that scary stuff. And our first lab was learning how to solder! For my non-techy friends out there, soldering is a technique that uses a light metal (solder) to join together other metals. It involved wires, sparks, lots of heat, and fumes that can be harmful for nursing mothers. Doesn’t that sound fun?!?<\/p>\n
