So&#8230;now what!?!?<\/p>\n<p>1. <strong>Coffee creamer<\/strong>: We decided to splurge when it comes to coffee and go back to our regular homemade creamer that we both like so much \u00a0(sweetened condensed milk + half and half + vanilla flavoring).<\/p>\n<p>2. <strong>Whole grains&amp;whole foods<\/strong>: I&#8217;m committed to continue using whole grains and whole foods at home&#8230; that means 100% whole wheat bread, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, no processed foods, no refined sugar, etc. We want to treat this commitment as a general guideline rather than a strictly enforced rule&#8230; meaning that some days, John can have some Ranch with his dinner, and other days, we can put some chocolate chips in our oatmeal \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_439\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-439\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-anyan\/files\/2014\/03\/dscn4839.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-439\" alt=\"Nothing quite like the smell of homemade bread! \" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-anyan\/files\/2014\/03\/dscn4839.jpg?w=300\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-anyan\/files\/2014\/03\/dscn4839.jpg 4000w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-anyan\/files\/2014\/03\/dscn4839-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-anyan\/files\/2014\/03\/dscn4839-600x450.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-439\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nothing quite like the smell of homemade bread!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>3. <strong>Sugar<\/strong>: We&#8217;ve been pretty impressed with how much honey and pure maple syrup can replace refined sugar! I&#8217;ve made muffins and pancakes and apple crisp and haven&#8217;t missed using white sugar one bit. It really taught us about eating healthier and being more aware what goes into our bodies. And it was a great catalyst for us in committing to permanent changes in some of our food habits.
