1. Enter text and hit “Google translator”<\/p>\n

OR<\/p>\n

2. Do a thorough text analysis of the source text by researching the communication situation and discourse genre, dividing up the text according to grammatical and semantic cohesion and boundaries, separating the grammatical structure from the semantic structure, removing all skewing, and breaking down the text into propositions which then need to be analyzed according to their communication relations (and that’s before any word is ever translated).<\/p>\n

Well, we’ve been doing the latter in one of our very last classes here at the Training Center: Semantics & Translation<\/em>. I have to admit that the budding linguist in me finds these topics quite fascinating. And, once again, I am beyond grateful for the training we are receiving here to prepare us for the work ahead.<\/p>\n
