BJ & Carissa’s Wedding

September 23, 2012 by John and Melanie Kerstetter

wedding 2

The long-awaited-for day, July 7th, 2012, finally arrived! After months of preparation and anticipation, we were so delighted to witness and celebrate the union of BJ and Carissa at their beautiful, God-honoring wedding. Many relatives and friends were present which made the day that much more special. We are excited for them as they begin their new life together! Please pray for them as they adjust to married life.

Summer quickly flew by! Charity and Bethany (as well as Josh) were living at home for the summer and working locally. We’re so grateful for the employment they all had, especially the girls, as they were saving up as much as they could for school bills.

Charity just started classes at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Please pray for her adjustments (she’s been out of school for two years and has never lived in Chicago!) and for finances for school bills.

Bethany returned for her 2nd and final year at New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, WI. Please pray for her with the added responsibility of being an RA this year, as well as for employment.

Joshua just began his Junior year at the local public high school. Please pray for his continued involvement in the Praise Band at Youth Group, as well as his academic and social life at the local public high school.

Please praise the Lord with us for the sale of our house in Brazil! After having it up for sale for almost a year and a half, God brought along buyers—2 very trustworthy, fellow believer friends that we know from the church we attended. We are so grateful for God’s work in the whole process. Please pray for us as we are planning a trip to Brazil in December to sign papers and finish up the details of the sale. We will also be looking for a home here in this area to purchase.

Please pray for some ongoing medical issues we are trying to take care of. We need wisdom to know when to pursue second opinions and which doctors to consult with, as well as God’s provision for these extra bills.

August marked the beginning of our new ministry here in Roach, MO, at the Missionary Training Center, where we help equip missionary families for serving overseas. We will send out another letter soon with a ministry update to tell you more about what we are doing now. We are excited about the opportunities God has given us! Please pray that we will be quick learners and that we’ll be ready and able to fit in to the niches God has for us here.

The last week of September will find us in Texas attending a D6 Conference. This conference is about “Family Ministry—churches equipping parents to partner in discipling their own kids.” It is all about equipping and inspiring leaders, volunteers, and parents to effectively disciple the next generation through the principles of Deuteronomy 6. Please pray for our time at the conference, that it will be very beneficial to us and that it will enhance our ministry—both at MTC and at our church—as well as our personal lives.

We want to thank you once again for your partnership with us. We are ever mindful of the team we are a part of in reaching the unreached! Please know that we appreciate you
