“Be still and know that I am God”
Psalm 46:10
As we take time to be still and reflect on God and who He is, we realize once again that we have so much to be thankful for! Besides all the material things God has blessed us with, God’s character alone gives us reason to rejoice with thanksgiving! What an awesome God we serve!
Thank you for your prayers as we went to the D6 Conference in Dallas, TX, the end of September. As we had hoped, it proved to be very beneficial for our personal lives and our ministry. The theme “Abide” was a great focus as we were reminded that, unless we are abiding in Christ, all the tools and ideas we gain and use are futile. It was very enlightening and challenging to hear about the culture of today’s younger generation and to consider the world’s influence on the Christian youth and how this affects families today.
The beginning of November we were able to go to Tennessee to celebrate our 25 th wedding anniversary (the actual date is December 29th). We spent 3 amazing days at the beautiful Whitestone Country Inn, due to God’s provision through an anonymous gift and the generous missionary discount of the innkeepers. We are so thankful for the time we had to relax, reconnect with each other and the Lord, and to just get away from the busyness of life. It’s hard to believe we’ve been married this long and we look forward to the next 25 years together!
Our kids all came home for Thanksgiving! Our time together was short, but sweet, with some fun family time together including a Thanksgiving meal with friends, shopping (gals) and shooting fire arms (guys), pancakes with Grandpa, games, and watching movies. We are thankful, once again, for any time that we can have together.
December will find us traveling to Brazil. As you might remember, we sold our house in Brazil and we need to do some paperwork for that, as well as other business, and we will also be able to renew our visas at the same time. We are really looking forward to seeing many friends and having a chance to “matar saudades” (kill homesickness). We will also enjoy the warmer weather for Christmas!
Please praise the Lord with us for:
- many safe miles traveled for partnership development, conferences, etc.
- profitable D6 Conference
- some new folks that have expressed a desire to partner with us
- special anniversary celebration
Please pray with us for:
- more partners to join our team
- our trip to Brazil – please pray for our actual travel, as well as getting the business done that we need to. John & Melanie fly down December 12th; Charity & Josh fly down December 22nd; John, Melanie, Charity & Josh return December 31 st; Bethany and her boyfriend, Zach, fly down December 17th and return January 7th.
Thank you once again for partnering with us! We thank God for YOU!
