Josh’s Graduation

July 17, 2014 by John and Melanie Kerstetter

Well, we thought with the conclusion of the busyness of the end-of-the-semester activities that life would slow down a bit, but it hasn’t seemed to. Let us fill you in on our personal lives and ministry.

On May 22nd Josh graduated summa cum laude from Camdenton High School. His sisters were able to surprise him by coming from Chicago and Wisconsin! May 26th to June 6th Josh was in Guatemala on a mission trip. Please let us know if you did not receive his letter about that. This summer he is working his third season at a local golf course’s restaurant and in August will begin the 2 year course at New Tribes Bible Institute (NTBI) in Waukesha, WI (where all our other kids have also attended). We are very proud of his accomplishments and activities, but are even more thankful for his sensitive heart for God and desire to glorify Him with his life.

Bethany and Zach are doing well and are serving on staff at NTBI (where Josh will be attending) — Bethany is working in the office and Zach is working with IT. They are excited as the arrival of their first child is just around the corner; he (yes, it’s a boy!) is due August 1 st. We are so looking forward to meeting our first grandchild and excited that, Lord willing, Melanie will be able to be there for the birth and for a couple of weeks to help out.

We are enjoying having BJ and Carissa with us for about a month this summer as they are “homeless” until they can move into their apartment at Moody Bible Institute (MBI) in August. They feel God is leading them into Jewish ministry and the next step in preparation is taking the Jewish studies program at MBI, which they should complete in 2-2 ½ years. Please let us know if you did not receive their letter. We are excited with them as they step out in faith on this journey God is leading them on.

Charity is doing well and really enjoying the employment (she is nanny for 2 year old twin girls) and the internship (developing curriculum and working with children at a church in Chicago) that God has provided for her this summer. It has been exciting to see God’s faithfulness and provision for her and watch her grow through challenging times of need. We are so thankful for her time at Moody Bible Institute and all she is learning in the Children’s Ministry program she is taking there. Lord willing, she will graduate in December!

In June the training center here hosted an International Trainers’ Forum. It was quite the privilege to see firsthand what God is doing the world over as representatives came from many different training centers associated with NTM both in and outside of the USA. God is raising up people from many nationalities to reach unreached people groups! Part of the reasoning behind having the forum here was to help in the assessment process that is currently taking place for our training. Some major changes and revisions are being made to improve the equipping of missionary candidates for cross cultural life and ministry. Please pray for continued wisdom and direction from the Lord for those involved in the evaluation and implementation process.

Thank you so much for your interest in our lives and the lives of our children. We are so thankful to be partnering together with you in God’s work!
