“He Has Risen, Just As He Said!” – Matthew 28:6
A couple of weeks before Easter, 2 men from our church passed away within hours of each other. Because we were approaching Easter and celebrating our Savior’s ressurection, although our hearts ache for their loved ones, it has been thrilling to think about these 2 men experiencing that ressurection power to its fullest! Praise God for His power over death and all that is available to us through Christ!
The beginning of March, Melanie had a quick, free trip to Waukesha to see Bethany, Zach, Mason, and Josh. Melanie was really feeling the “tug”, wishing she could see Mason who keeps growing and changing so quickly, and so this was a very special gift from God. It was a tiring, fast trip—up one day, there one day, and back home the next day—but very well worth it to get her “grandma fix”!
A couple of days later, BJ & Carissa arrived in Missouri to spend a week of their spring break with us. We really enjoyed their company and having them with us before they returned to Moody to finish their semester in the Jewish studies program. Josh even came home for a quick weekend visit while they were here, which we also loved.
Although we didn’t have any of our kids with us for Easter this year, we enjoyed a special service at church and then had John’s dad, sister and her husband for lunch and a visit. Charity didn’t really get a break but had the weekend in Waukesha with Zach, Bethany & Mason; BJ & Carissa went to her parents’ place (also in Waukesha); and Josh went to Florida with some friends for his 10-day spring break. Zach, Bethany & Mason came to Missouri right after Easter for the rest of their 10-day break, so we enjoyed time with them.
John just started a Greek course after Easter, taught by a gifted coworker. John has been really looking forward to this as he has always dreamed of learning Greek. The course is a little intense with 5 hours of class and 3 hours of homework a day, Monday-Friday for 6 weeks. Please pray for diligence for John and his time management as he puts a few things “on the back burner” in order to take advantage of this opportunity.
We have been praying and thinking about making a trip to Ontario this summer to visit Melanie’s family that we haven’t seen for almost 3 years. We have begun planning for this trip in July and are trusting the Lord for the provisions to do it. We also hope to visit some friends and supporters in Ontario and along the way.
We are so blessed by you who partner with us in what God is doing to reach the unreached with the Gospel! We are privileged to have a part in taking the Good News of Christ’s death, burial, and ressurection to others who haven’t heard. We count on your prayers and so appreciate you lifting us up to the Father. Thank you for your part! We appreciate you!
