It is always exciting to see Him at work in our lives and the lives of our kids.<\/p>\n<p>We had some of our kids, John\u2019s dad, and a couple of extra people with us for <strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Thanksgiving<\/span><\/strong>, so we had a full table to enjoy our little feast and share our thankfulness to the One who blesses us so abundantly each day.<\/p>\n<p>On December 10<sup>th<\/sup> <strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Melanie <\/span><\/strong>had foot surgery to take care of a Morton\u2019s neuroma and a small bunion. The recovery was slightly complicated and delayed by a bad pressure sore that developed. The surgery sites are healing well and, after some rough days of severe pain and swelling, the pressure sore is healing as well. Thank you for your prayers.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_250\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-250\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/Christmas-2014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-250 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/Christmas-2014-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Christmas 2014\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-250\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A small Christmas celebration<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Because of Melanie\u2019s surgery and delayed recovery, she was a little \u201cout of commission\u201d for extra <strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Christmas<\/span> <\/strong>activities, but we did enjoy the presence of Charity and Josh and they were an extra help for John who had to play nursemaid and housekeeper a little longer than anticipated.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_256\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-256\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/Graduation-2014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-256 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/Graduation-2014-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Moody graduate\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-256\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Moody graduation party<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Charity <\/span><\/strong>was home for almost 2 weeks. Moody does not have graduation ceremonies in December, but over the\u00a0Christmas break we were able to have a graduation party for Charity. Not too many people came due to the timing over the holidays, but we were able to celebrate Charity\u2019s accomplishments in completing college and earning her Bachelor\u2019s degree in Children\u2019s Ministry. Praise the Lord with us as He provided an apartment in Chicago for Charity and her friend to rent. Her nanny job is going really well also.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_251\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-251\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/BJ-Carissa1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-251\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/BJ-Carissa1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"BJ &amp; Carissa\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/BJ-Carissa1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/BJ-Carissa1-110x110.jpg 110w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/BJ-Carissa1.jpg 220w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-251\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">seeking medical treatment<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">BJ and Carissa <\/span><\/strong>were with us for Thanksgiving and then spent Christmas with Carissa\u2019s family. After New Year\u2019s they traveled to Idaho for Carissa\u2019s Lyme treatment. They then returned to Chicago for BJ to begin his 2<sup>nd<\/sup> semester at Moody.\u00a0 Please pray for Carissa as her body reacts to the treatment and tries to detox and heal. The doctor gave BJ a complimentary test and discovered he has Lyme also, although not as severe as Carissa. He did a mini treatment, so BJ is recovering from that, too.<\/p>\n<dl id=\"attachment_255\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"width: 160px;\">\n<dt class=\"wp-caption-dt\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/Zach-Bethany.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-255 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/Zach-Bethany-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Zach &amp; Bethany\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/dt>\n<dd class=\"wp-caption-dd\">Mason &amp; family<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Zach and Bethany<\/span><\/strong> had their first Christmas with <strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Mason <\/span><\/strong>alone as a family then came here a few days later for a week and a half. Of course, we enjoyed that, especially seeing Mason again; he turned 5 months old while they were here. They continue ministering on staff at New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, WI.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_254\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-254\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/Josh.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-254\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/files\/2015\/06\/Josh-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Josh, Charity &amp; Mason\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-254\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">proud uncle &amp; aunt<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008080;\">Josh <\/span><\/strong>was home for almost 3 weeks over Christmas. He worked with John getting his car repaired (from the minor accident he had he September) and was able to drive it back to Wisconsin when he returned for his second semester at New Tribes Bible Institute. His collarbone had healed well and so he was able to resume his bus driving job. We are thankful for good employment for him and for God\u2019s provision of a special gift that helped pay a portion of his school bill last semester.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your prayers for us and our family!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are so thankful for God\u2019s great faithfulness and His mercies that are new every morning!
