Our family has had some busy days with everyone’s comings and goings and new school years beginning.\u00a0 After all the dust settled, we have ended up with 4 family members in Waukesha, WI at New Tribes Bible Institute, 3 family members in Chicago at Moody Bible Institute, and 2 of us are here in Missouri.\u00a0 We are adjusting to an empty nest and thankful our kids are where they are—right where God wants them to be—and that they are together in two locations (only 2 hours apart)!<\/p>\n

So much has happened over the past few months that it’s hard to tell about everything, but here is a brief run-down of events:<\/p>\n

July 25th<\/sup> \u2013 Melanie <\/span><\/strong>went to Waukesha, WI with BJ & Carissa<\/span><\/strong> (after they were with us in Missouri for 5 weeks)<\/p>\n

July 31st<\/sup> \u2013 John<\/span> <\/strong>and Josh<\/span> <\/strong>went to Waukesha, WI<\/p>\n

August 1st<\/sup> \u2013 Bethany’s due date…no baby<\/p>\n

August 2nd<\/sup> \u2013 John<\/span> <\/strong>and Josh<\/span><\/strong> helped BJ & Carissa<\/span><\/strong> move to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago<\/p>\n

August 5th<\/sup> \u2013 Josh<\/span> <\/strong>went to Michigan for an MK retreat<\/p>\n

August 6th<\/sup> \u2013 Charity<\/span> <\/strong>arrived in Waukesha from Chicago for a few days’ visit; our first grandson arrived!<\/p>\n

Bethany & Zach<\/span><\/strong> welcomed their son,<\/p>\n

weighing 8 lbs 9 oz and measuring 22\u201d long<\/p>\n

August 8th<\/sup> \u2013 John<\/span> <\/strong>returned to Missouri<\/p>\n

August 9th<\/sup> \u2013 Charity<\/span> <\/strong>went back to Chicago; BJ & Carissa<\/span><\/strong> returned to Waukesha for a few days’ visit<\/p>\n

August 10th<\/sup> \u2013 Josh<\/span> <\/strong>returned to Waukesha, moved into his dorm room, and had about 4 days of work before the semester began at New Tribes Bible Institute<\/p>\n

August 13th<\/sup> \u2013 BJ & Carissa<\/span><\/strong> went back to Chicago; Charity<\/span> <\/strong>(as a member of the MuKappa leadership team) began preparations for the MK Orientation at Moody<\/p>\n

August 14th<\/sup> \u2013 Zach’s parents and sister arrived in Waukesha to meet Mason<\/span> <\/strong>and visit<\/p>\n

August 16th<\/sup>\u201319th<\/sup> \u2013 Charity, BJ & Carissa<\/span><\/strong> had the MK Orientation at Moody<\/p>\n

August 17th<\/sup> \u2013 Josh<\/span> <\/strong>had registration and a welcome\/kick-off at NTBI; Melanie<\/span> <\/strong>returned to Missouri with Zach’s family<\/p>\n

August 18th<\/sup>-19th<\/sup> \u2013 Josh<\/span> <\/strong>had Orientation at NTBI; Zach & Bethany<\/span><\/strong> began the new semester, continuing on staff at NTBI (although Bethany was still on maternity leave)<\/p>\n

August 18th<\/sup> \u2013 Kick-off and welcome at the Missionary Training Center for John & Melanie<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

August 19th<\/sup> \u2013 Orientation and classes began at MTC for John & Melanie<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

August 20th<\/sup> \u2013 Josh<\/span> <\/strong>started classes at NTBI; BJ & Carissa<\/span><\/strong> continued with regular Orientation at Moody<\/p>\n

August 25th<\/sup> \u2013 Charity, BJ & Carissa<\/span><\/strong> started classes at Moody<\/p>\n

We are thankful that Bethany’s labor and delivery went smoothly at the birth center assisted by the midwives there.\u00a0 Because Melanie arrived a week before Bethany’s due date (August 1st<\/sup>), she was able to help with some final preparations for Mason’s arrival.\u00a0 She thoroughly enjoyed being there for special bonding time with Mason and for helping with meals, laundry, cleaning, etc.\u00a0 We are so thankful that Mason was born a day and a half before John had to leave, so John had a little time with him.\u00a0 Charity, BJ & Carissa, and Josh were all able to meet Mason at different times within the first 4 days of his life and they were so excited to meet this little person we’ve all been waiting for!<\/p>\n
