{"id":373,"date":"2013-12-12T11:49:25","date_gmt":"2013-12-12T16:49:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/?p=373"},"modified":"2019-07-12T11:20:37","modified_gmt":"2019-07-12T16:20:37","slug":"time-is-quickly-racing-by","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/john-kerstetter\/2013\/12\/12\/time-is-quickly-racing-by\/","title":{"rendered":"Time Continues Racing By"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s always hard to believe at the end of the year how quickly time races by us.\u00a0 This year was no exception.\u00a0 A quick recap of 2013 gives us much to be thankful for.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">January-May<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 the year started with us continuing in our new roles in the Families in Ministry Department at the Missionary Training Center (MTC).\u00a0 We also kept busy with plans and preparations for Bethany &amp; Zach\u2019s beautiful wedding on May 26<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">June<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 we were getting ready for our department\u2019s part in, and attending, New Tribes Mission\u2019s Enrichment for furloughing missionaries held at the MTC.\u00a0 When that was over, we shifted gears and were preparing for our move to our new house off campus, including some painting and cleaning.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">July<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 we moved to our new house and spent time getting settled.\u00a0 We quickly got back out on the race track by preparing for the new semester at the MTC, including some new responsibilities within our department due to the loss of some members.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">August-October<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 shifting gears from our move, we spent more time preparing for the start of classes at the MTC the middle of August, including John teaching some classes for the first time.\u00a0 Josh started his senior year of high school, which also involved his first time on the soccer team.\u00a0 For Josh with practices and games, and Dad &amp; Mom attending home games, that kept all 3 of us extra busy on top of our regular schedules with few pit stops.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">November<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 our race slowed down a bit when soccer ended and we had time to start thinking about the holidays and prepare for Thanksgiving with Charity, Bethany and Zach, along with a couple of friends they brought home with them for their break.\u00a0 With John\u2019s dad, Zach\u2019s family, and a student from MTC joining us, we totaled 18 for Thanksgiving dinner in our home.\u00a0 It was a fun, international Thanksgiving with 6 countries being represented&#8212;USA, Canada, Brazil, Germany, Hungary, and Australia.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">December<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 we are nearing the finish line for this year as we see students we have mentored over the past year and a half graduate from the MTC.
