Jon’s surgery lasted about two hours. Dr Shives said they had to remove about 50% of his thigh tissue –his muscle. He has his quadriceps left (top of the thigh) and some of his hamstring (on the bottom.)
They also had to remove some of the end of the bone. Dr Shives said that he hopes it will be enough to support a prosthesis and hopes it will be better than removing the entire leg.
On Wednesday they will take him back into surgery and if it looks like they got all the dead tissue out and no infection is present then they will close him up.That’s all we know right now.
Thank you for praying!
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6, 7 NKJV)
