Jon’s second surgery at Mayo Clinic is done! Jon’s time in the recovery room went faster today. He has some pain but it’s being managed well.
The doctor said he thinks he got all the dead muscle. Took just a wee little bit out that he found. Then he sewed him up. He’ll have a drain tube in his stump for a couple days.
Not sure when they’ll discharge him yet. Will do IV antibiotics for two weeks. Friday Jon will be fitted for a prosthetic. He should have enough muscle left to support himself. Time will tell.
Doc said he can be up walking on Monday with a prosthetic and crutches! Yes Monday! We asked for clarification.
Jon is just thrilled! Said after all this time, it’s surreal to be talking about a prosthetic! Praise God!!
Thank you all for praying for us and waiting with us for surgery. Now it’s time to recover. And then rehab.
Thanks for walking step by step with us!
“My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of the Lord; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; The Lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will He withhold From those who walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, Blessed is the man who trusts in You!” (Psalms 84:2, 5, 11, 12 NKJV)
