This week Jon’s stitches were removed, his PICC line out and he’s off antibiotics. He’s a free man! His doctor said everything is looking good so far. Praise God!!
Jon gets his first shower tomorrow without having to put a taped bag over his stump. What’s the big deal? After nearly six months of a long shower prep time–he’s looking forward to just “hopping in.” These little steps are big for us in getting back to a “normal” life.
Now we have five weeks off from all doctor appointments (which will be really strange!!) while Jon’s stump continues to heal. So we are headed back to Jon’s folks to recover there.
The next step will be coming back to Mayo mid May. Jon ordered his robotic leg and then he will begin training on it.
Meanwhile we are feeling so loved and taken care of!! A sweet friend of the family brought a meal tonight. And we’ve had meals and sweets delivered. Cards and even packages are still trickling in. What a treat!! Thank you for blessing us!!
