As we wrap up this week, I’m thankful for family, I love how it worked out to see so many of them on our short road trip to Mayo. Glad how the Lord works out these things! Even when it gets tiring to be on the road, seeing & spending time with family & friends […]
Thank you all for praying today!!! Jon had surgery this morning & everything went well. The Doc said the plate was a little “stuck” so it’s a good thing they got it out now before it got too attached to him. He is allowed to walk on his foot in 48 hrs, but needs to […]
At Mayo Clinic today for a consultation before Jon’s foot surgery tomorrow morning. This surgery will be to remove the metal plate in his foot. That plate held Jon’s broken foot together & now needs to be removed before it breaks. Please pray for the surgery to go well & for Jon to recover quickly. […]
Quick update: Jon now has his Genium x-3 & his sleek black semi-permanent socket!!!! So very thankful God provided this great gift for Jon!!!!! We are also grateful to the guys working on our behalf to get everything lined up–Thanks prosthetic labs & Steve & Dan J for all of your hard work!! Now for […]
After the Oshkosh Airshow, we came back to Rochester so Jon could get his socket (the fiberglass sheath that Jon’s stump rests in) remade at the prosthetic lab. His stump has shrunk quite a bit & he needs a smaller size now. It’s not unusual for the stump to change size & shape with […]
Well it’s the end of May and we are down to one last appointment on Monday. No more appointments until July-hooray!! Don’t get me wrong, the doctors & PT & prosthetics folks have been great. Really impressed by them all! But it will be SO nice to get back to a “normal” life again. We feel […]
“You’ve got to commit to it!” That’s what Jon’s PT told him as Jon started training on the loaner leg 2x daily last week. Each step Jon has to be intentional, once he takes the step, he has to follow through so his leg will work properly. Just the right weight shift, not enough & […]
We leave Monday for Mayo and Jon gets fitted for the C-leg. So excited!! We'd also like to tell you about where we've been, how we're doing and how you can pray.
This week Jon's stitches were removed, his PICC line out and he's off antibiotics. Now we have five weeks off from all doctor appointments. Jon ordered his robotic leg and will begin training on it in mid May.
After a long day, Jon was discharged from the hospital with his temporary prosthetic leg. See the rest of this post to watch a video of Jon walking with the boys.
