The jeep ride into the mountains was beautiful. Jungle covered mountains and deep ravines with no guard rails to mar the view.
As the driver sped around the corners one never knew what he would see next. It might be a waterfall or one’s life story passing before his eyes. It just depended on how close the driver was to the edge. Jonathan says it was definitely worth the $2.35 he paid for the trip.
They arrived at the end of the road in the evening. A small boat ferried them across a river and then they hopped on a couple waiting motorcycles for a ride into town. By this time the new guys had a pretty good idea about why Jonathan didn’t seem to know for sure how the trip would work out.
The trip actually worked out very well. They spent a few days in the town and were able to gather much information. They met up with some Christians who asked Jonathan to teach them in the evenings and he had several opportunities to do so.
