Update for the Third Week of January 2017
When we arrived in the USA in mid-December we felt very cold, but we knew that if we put on lots of sweatshirts and stayed close to the fire, but not close enough to get a nose burn, we would eventually get acclimated and, sure enough, after four and a half weeks the temperature went up a bit and we were starting to feel reasonably comfortable. The next day we flew back to the Philippines.
Our flight out of Seattle was delayed, and delayed again in S. Korea. We arrived in Manila in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Solomon is said to be the wisest of men and he said that there is a time for everything. We took that concept to heart about 2:30 AM because, when you are the last passenger in the airport and there are no more bags on the conveyor belt it’s time to give up and report to Jonathan the lost baggage man and go home, but not before getting a picture with him.
Our bag was eventually delivered and we are enjoying feeling warm again. We are also enjoying getting to know two new missionary families; the Thannums and the Newbys. (Dan Thannum and his daughter pictured above.) This week Heidi is doing final edits on the children’s Bible story book she has translated and I have a few days of meeting with the leadership team.
Please pray that the Thannums and Newbys will find houses to rent and have a smooth transition to living in the Philippines.
Please pray that Heidi’s book will be able to be sent to the publisher this week.
Please pray for wisdom and grace for the field leadership team.
Thank you for your prayers!
God bless,
Jonathan and Heidi
