Manila has some things we don’t have up north: taxis, cement sidewalks, and malls, but this week we are happily trading those things for grass, trees, and fresh air.
Our time in the big city did serve its purpose. Vicky and the team worked very hard and produced a complete set of primers and readers for teaching literacy. There are also instruction manuals and flash cards. Thank you, Angeles, Devis, and Perlita, for all your hard work!
Heidi and I will return to the village later this week, but before we do, we are going to go to the beach for a couple of nights for a vacation.
- Please continue to pray for our Isnag friends. Another young man from our village was killed in the conflict in Mindanao.
- In the last week, there were also more people sent out to the hospital. An older lady who is very weak, a man who stepped on a wire that broke off in his foot and needed surgery to have it removed, and baby Owen, pictured above, who needed intestinal surgery. Please pray that these patients will recover.
- David, our co-worker, is getting very close to teaching about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Please pray for clear understanding for those who have not yet understood, and please pray that all these problems the Isnag are experiencing will not distract them from hearing God’s word.
Thank you for your prayers!
God bless,
Jonathan & Heidi
