Time is flying by. I spent last week concentrating on writing Bible lessons. We are currently working our way through the lives of David and Saul and there are a lot of good life lessons for us to learn along the way. Heidi finished up her content check of Romans and Vicky, with her group, finished up a comprehension check of the same book, so this past week I have been working to edit the manuscript. When this is done, Heidi can translate it back to English and then send it to our translation consultant for evaluation.
Last week, Vicky made a quick trip out to town and used the time to print the first draft of the literacy teaching materials and make flash cards. She is getting very close to doing a practice run with the new curriculum.
Vicky has also started a community development project which has really taken off. She has taught several ladies to sew and to use patterns. She has the use of 3 or 4 sewing machines, so the ladies take turns every afternoon and they are turning out nice clothing and bags which are a real blessing.
Prayer and Praise:
- The pilot, Brian Schaadt, performed a 100 hour inspection on the helicopter and everything is as it should be.
- The little girl with the ruptured ear drum does need surgery, so Heidi and I plan to escort her and her mother to town next week and stay with them for the week to make sure she gets the care she needs. Please pray the surgery will go well and will be successful.
- Please pray for the translation of Romans. We are coming into the later stages of the translation process and want to catch any errors that might remain.
Thank you for your prayers!
God bless,
Jonathan & Heidi
