You might say that I’m not especially adept at rice farming or climbing coconut trees, so we stock up on extra sugar for the occasion. Note that one boy is carrying a bag which holds a small motorcycle battery and the other boy is holding a 12 volt light bulb that is connected to the battery. That is the system that most people here use to light their homes. It is a handy system because, if need be, you can take your kitchen light with you.

Lorraine is still in town so that she can make it to her follow up visits to the doctor. So far, all the reports are good. Lorraine and her mother are staying with the Hinderager family during this time. We sure appreciate Cole and Hannah helping them so that we can be back at our work here in the village.
Another praise is that the lady who had been waiting to have leg surgery to repair two broken bones has had her operation. Please continue to pray that her recovery will go well. Heidi made good progress on the back translation of Romans last week and now that we are back in the village we are putting on the finishing touches.
In addition to preparing Bible lessons and working on translation, I’m hoping that by the end of next week, I’ll have completed fixing the plumbing in our co-worker’s house and, hopefully, will have fixed a problem with a weak house post and an eroding river bank. If plumbing and construction don’t work out for me, maybe I’ll consider taking up coconut farming.
Thank you for your prayers!
