who were ready and willing to help us with the comprehension testing for the book of Mark.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/002.jpg\"><img sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And Arsali and Auntie Pinang helped Heidi inside.\u00a0 These ladies helped us with tricky problems such as helping Mary find a place to put baby Jesus down in a language which doesn\u2019t have a word for a manger.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/004.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-389\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/004.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Carrie and Thomas took advantage of their time in the village by doing some of the fun activities they have enjoyed over the years such as hiking in the mountains and swimming in the river.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/008.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-393\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/008.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Carrie also spent time with her Isnag friends.\u00a0 These are two of Carrie\u2019s many good friends in the village.\u00a0 They came over one morning to teach her how to make an Isnag dessert.\u00a0 They didn\u2019t want to send Carrie off to the USA without knowing how to cook kinalogkog! It is a good thing they taught her because you can\u2019t buy good kinalogkog at Walmart.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/009.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-394\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/009.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/009.jpg 640w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/009-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When Heidi, Carrie and Thomas flew out to get back to school, Zach flew in.\u00a0 He was a bit of a surprise guest because the radio operator didn\u2019t tell me who was coming to help me.\u00a0 For all I knew they might be sending me a guy they found laying in the street or the town embalmer, but it was Zach and I\u2019m glad it was. \u00a0Zach is our newest helicopter pilot and it is great having him and his family here with us in the Philippines.\u00a0 I was also happy that it was Zach because one of the things I needed help with was house wiring and Zach is an expert.\u00a0 He would probably be quick to say that he is not an expert.\u00a0 I would argue that anyone who brings their own pliers and electrical tape is automatically elevated to the high position of expert.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for all your help, Zach!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/010.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-395\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/010.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/010.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/010-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another guy I am thankful for is Robert (Smitty) Smith. When I flew out to town, I still had some traveling I needed to do.\u00a0 I needed to make a four hour trip into the interior of the island to meet with a doctor regarding our village\u2019s medical needs.\u00a0 Smitty volunteered to go along as expert driver.\u00a0 He would probably be quick to say he is not an expert driver,<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/011.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-396\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/011.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/011.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/011-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>but I\u2019m willing to count any driver of mine who keeps his tires on the solid boards an expert.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/012.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-397\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/012.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/012.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/012-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Of course avoiding falling rocks is also good.\u00a0 We missed the slide but were there in time to help throw some boulders off the road.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/013.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-398\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/013.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/013.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/013-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A few miles down the road we came to the \u201cbetter late than never\u201d sign.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-399\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/014.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/014.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/014-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the way we stopped in a small town and went baby hunting.\u00a0 A young family from our village moved out to town for a baby delivery and we wanted to surprise them by stopping in to see the new baby.\u00a0 We pulled over and started asking directions.\u00a0 It was very funny.\u00a0 We were sent here and there.\u00a0 We walked through yards and laundry areas and in general toured the entire town.\u00a0 Finally we found someone that knew who we were looking for and volunteered to take us to them.\u00a0 We ended up a house very near where we had parked our truck.\u00a0 The people who gave us the first directions were not experts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/015.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-400\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/015.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/015.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/jonathan-heidi-bamford\/files\/2012\/03\/015-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We finally made it to town and found the doctor.\u00a0 Andy, the guy on my left is a church and community leader who went along with me.\u00a0 The doctor was very kind and helpful and we look forward to working with her in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for the great driving Smitty!<\/p>\n<p>We are all now back in Manila and getting ready to put the final touches on the translation before we send it to the consultant.\u00a0 Lord willing we will it will be sent before April 14<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 She will review it and we will start preparing for the big final check in June.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for reading our blog.<\/p>\n<p>God bless,<\/p>\n<p>Jonathan &amp;
