Dear Praying Friends,<\/p>\n

We are still in rainy season here and some mornings the temperature here is below 70\u00b0. That doesn\u2019t sound too bad to most of you, but for people here whose houses and wardrobes are suited to 90\u00b0 it is freezing. But hot season is just around the corner and people are starting to prepare their rice fields.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This stick stuck on a tree is a mark called a sarpit. It means that someone has claimed this land for this year\u2019s rice field.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Almost every year we have typhoons and the river level rises very high and threatens the village. The government has started a project to build a cement wall along the river to protect the village. Every year a bit is added. The people started building this year\u2019s wall this past week.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This is one of Heidi\u2019s Bible study groups. Heidi has a wonderful time with these ladies and they love studying the Bible together. Aunt Pinang usually attends, but wasn\u2019t there the day I took this picture, but she is in the picture below.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Aunt Pinang, is listening to the Bible on a special MP3 player. A couple of years ago, the Second Wind Sunday school class at Westwood Baptist gave us some funds to purchase MP3 players that are solar rechargeable a made to withstand jungle life. It has been quiet a process getting them ready to use.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Pearly in the dark brown recorded 25 chapters from Genesis and Heidi edited the sound files and encrypted them for use on the players. This last Sunday they were ready to go and we distributed them. Those that borrowed them this month will return them at the end of the month and we already have a waiting list for next month. In the meantime, Pearly will start recording Exodus and then Mark. Heidi also put the two latest Isnag worship songs on the players so that people could learn them.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This is not the helicopter we usually use. Our helicopter that was supposed to go to a different region last week was forced to return due to bad weather. They hope to fly south as soon as the weather improves. The helicopter in the picture is a new one that is being sent to Mindanao. As you can see, the mechanics have prepared it for shipment and are ready to load it into a container. We are hoping it will arrive in the Philippines in a couple months.<\/p>\n
