I realize this is not “big news” for those of you living up north but the winter storm that blew through the Ozarks yesterday dropped at least a foot of snow. I was walking in drifts that came up to my knees. I have to admit I am a bit sore after all the shoveling trying keep our sidewalks clear. Our teens enjoyed another “snow day”.
Lisa invited those interested over for the afternoon for making Valentine cards and scrap booking. We were not sure how many would be able to make it but we ended up with a half dozen or so and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
Thankfully the snow tapered off last night and today the skies are clear even though the temperature dropped even lower. We thank the Lord that we got mostly snow instead of ice and we did not lose electricity. I am definitely not enjoying the brutally cold temperatures but the landscape with all the snow and the sun shining is absolutely beautiful.
When I mentioned yesterday how good Mozambique looks because of the nasty cold weather I was reminded by a dear friend that the hot, humid air along with the different “aromas” over there would possibly be more challenging. It made me realize that my contentment needs to be in HIM and to be thankful no matter what the circumstance and trust HIM to help us see the beauty in each and every situation.
