Home Again…?

May 4, 2011 by Jonathan and Lisa Parker

One of the most dreaded questions for me as a missionary kid was “So, where are YOU from?” Even today when someone asks me that question I try to decide if they want to know where I was born, where I actually grew up or my current place of residence.

After the seemingly endless job of sorting and packing we left our home of almost 11 years in Missouri and made the 1000 mile trek to Pennsylvania.  Even though this has been a second home to us for many years we are still feeling somewhat displaced and even a bit disoriented.  But we are reminded again of the truth in Philippians 3:20 “For our citizenship is in heaven…”

It is still a bit hard to believe that we will be setting up our next “home” in Mozambique.  We still have a lot of miles to travel here in the Northeast US before we head out.  Our target date is still the end of June but we are still in the process of building our ministry partnership team as well as applying for visas before we buy tickets.  Please keep us in your prayers.
