This last weekend we had the priviledge of celebrating the wedding of Misty ( Jenny’s Sister), and Andy. Our daughter spent the first several minutes of the wedding ceremony crying because she was going to miss her “mia moo”, Aunt Misty. It is going to be hard to be away from the family, but it was so awesome to be a part of their special day, to have family in town as well. Sunday we said our goodbyes, which was hard. We have noticed that the kids have been crying a good bit, which is healthy but also a sign of the sadness that we all feel as we prepare to leave our friends and family behind.
We recently have had a lot of rain, which has resulted in flooding in some areas. Earlier today I was going to take the kids to a park while we waited for the rest of the family that were at some appointments. We had to make a u-turn in the parking lot because the park was flooded. Later on in the day I had to run some errands and took Jada with me. We were driving in the car and we passed a Park. Jada said that park isn’t floating, translation = flooded. I told her that the park we had tried to visit was the one that had flooded, not all parks. She said that it was the one we had been to one time, literally it was one time. Anyhow…as I was driving I looked back at her to see tears rolling down her cheeks. When I asked why she was crying she said it was because the park was “floated”. These days we find ourselves crying without always knowing the real reason we are crying. It did earn her a hot “choco” chocolate and a sticker at the coffee shop afterwards. 🙂
