What We’ve Been Up To This Spring in Brazil

June 5, 2026 by Joseph and Erin Suttle

It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into summer! The past few months have been full, busy, and encouraging as we’ve continued serving here in Brazil. We wanted to take a moment to share some of what we’ve been up to and how you can be praying for us in the months ahead.

There are still several steps ahead, including traveling to southern Brazil and filing expenses to complete the process, but we’re grateful to see things moving forward after praying about this for so long.

We love being back in a jungled area!

I had to try to work in our tiny living room at the old house, which kept the kids stuck in their rooms a lot.

Now I have a whole room to work in and it’s SO nice!

The transition kept us busy for a while with packing and unpacking, but we’re thankful for the peace and stability it has brought.

Ministry has remained very active as we continue helping new families through orientations and preparation for life and ministry in Brazil. Summer is often a busy season as people travel, make plans, and prepare for future ministry opportunities. Joe spends much of his time helping families navigate logistics, travel, building projects, and repairs, especially for those serving in more remote locations.

It’s always fun when the kids get to help with big printing projects!

Alongside our ministry work, Erin continues working with families through natural healthcare consultations. Many of these families are looking for practical ways to improve their health and address underlying issues rather than simply managing symptoms. It has been encouraging to see progress in many of the families she works with and to be able to support people both physically and spiritually.

On the family side, one of the biggest blessings this year has been seeing continued progress with Liam. He recently had some adjustments made to his therapy program. We are seeing continued progress and are very thankful! There are three main areas we’re hoping to see improvement in before he graduates:

• Talking with people outside of close friends and family. He has made huge progress this year, but still has a ways to go.

• Clothing flexibility. He currently wears the same five outfits with a hood almost 24/7. We’d love to see continued growth in this area. A recent win was that he finally accepted short-sleeve hoodies in the heat, which was a big deal!

• Hearing sensitivity. Even with his headphones, we use level-one sound and cut it in half, and it is still very loud for him. When he first started sound therapy, he could only tolerate 2–3 minutes because it was so painful. He is now up to 15 minutes, which is encouraging progress!

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
