Partner with the Suttles: Reaching the Unreached in the Amazon

Who We Are & What We Do

We’re Joe and Erin, serving in Brazil,  — right in the heart of the Amazon. After several years supporting a missionary boarding school (PQQ), we’ve transitioned to a new phase of ministry while continuing our passion: supporting Bible translation and church planting in some of the most unreached areas of the world.

Our mission is simple: help make it possible for the gospel to be shared where it’s never been heard.

Joe’s Role

Joe serves in a multifaceted role that keeps missionaries equipped and operational in some of the most remote tribal locations in the Amazon. He:

    • He works on the field’s solar power department, where he designs, orders, supports installs, and maintains off-grid solar systems for missionaries living deep in the jungle. These systems provide the essential electricity needed for Bible translation, discipleship, and daily living in areas without reliable infrastructure. Joe provides ongoing remote support via email and video calls for system builds, upgrades, and repairs.

    • In addition, Joe runs the field’s graphics department, producing printed materials that support Bible teaching, church planting, and missionary training. This includes visual aids, discipleship tools, lesson materials, and outreach resources — all designed to help communicate God’s Word clearly and effectively.

From fixing solar inverters and designing off-grid systems, Joe’s background in construction, maintenance, tech, and leadership has proven to be a perfect match for the mission field. It’s clear that God has uniquely prepared him for this work.

Erin’s Role

Erin continues to serve by caring for the physical of missionaries, and their families. With a background in natural and functional medicine, she offers practical support to those serving in some of the most remote and demanding areas of Brazil.

Erin provides FBCA (Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis) lab assessments, helping individuals identify root causes of health challenges and create personalized wellness plans — especially important for missionaries who may not have regular access to healthcare.

She also works with families of autistic and special needs children, offering guidance, encouragement, and support rooted in compassion and understanding. In addition, Erin helps missionaries and their families with stress management, teaches health skills tailored for remote and tribal settings, and provides natural health education for daily life in the Amazon.

At home, Erin stays busy homeschooling their children, Liam and Anora, while also remaining involved in hospitality and local ministry — encouraging and uplifting those who pass through the mission base in Manaus.

Whether she’s helping a teammate navigate a health issue, preparing meals for visiting families, supporting parents of special needs kids, or tending to the hearts and education of her own children, Erin reflects Christ’s love in thoughtful, hands-on ways that make a lasting difference.

Why This Work Matters

We’ve learned over the years just how many moving parts it takes to keep missionaries in the field. From power systems and communications to health support and education — every piece matters.

And while we’re no longer at the PQQ boarding school, our time there helped us understand the deep need for mission support roles like ours — roles that often go unseen but are vital to the work of reaching the unreached.

Now, based in Manaus, we’re more connected than ever to the strategic coordination that helps sustain Bible translation and church planting efforts in the most isolated parts of Brazil.

Our Heart

We are part of Ethnos360’s “Engaging on the Edge” initiative — supporting those living and laboring in the hardest-to-reach places. Every solar panel installed, every system repaired, every person cared for is part of something bigger: helping bring the gospel to people who have never heard it.

Looking back, we can see how God has orchestrated each step — preparing us through work experience, passions, and skills to serve exactly where we are now. It’s humbling to be used in this way, and we’re truly grateful.

A Biblical Encouragement

Some of the first people God called into ministry weren’t preachers — they were craftsmen. In Exodus 31, God says:

“I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills… to engage in all kinds of crafts.”

We love this reminder that practical, hands-on work is just as much a part of God’s mission as preaching or teaching. He uses every kind of gift — and every willing heart — for His glory.

Please Pray With Us

  • For strength and wisdom as we serve
  • For the missionaries we support — that they’d be encouraged and equipped
  • For unreached people groups to hear the truth and respond to the gospel
  • For our family to remain rooted in God and unified in purpose

Thank you for standing with us. Your partnership and prayers are helping reach the ends of the earth — one connection, one translation, one relationship at a time.
