Hello everyone! We hope this message finds you all in great spirits! We would like to share some wonderful updates about our family’s journey serving in Brazil.
Furry visitors are fun sometimes!

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to immerse ourselves in such a vibrant and welcoming community here in Manaus. We’ve been enjoying teaching others how to make sushi! Erin co-hosted a sushi party for her ladies’ bible study group, and it was so fun!

Sometimes shopping here can be frustrating… For this office supply store, you enter the building, find your supplies, take them to the BACK of the store, they take your order and put it in the computer, you walk back to the front and EXIT the building, go around the corner, and pay, then wait in line AGAIN for your order to be brought out!

Most of our electronic items stored at PQQ were broken. Thankfully, Joe & Liam got the kitchen aid limping along. My blender and refrigerator were shot, and we’re waiting on parts for the stove and crockpot. Liam’s getting pretty good at helping with repairs!

Joe has been extremely busy! In May alone, he printed over 1,500 books, 3,500 flashcards, and 86 yearbooks! Thankfully, Liam was able to help quite a bit. Joe has also conducted orientations with numerous families and has been assisting several others with solar systems.

In June, we spent a lot of time with our Interface group. They were in Brazil for five weeks, and we had them with us for a little over one of those weeks. Joe helped chauffeur them around, and we gave them a tour of PQQ and the graphics department. We were also asked to participate in one of the group’s classes discussing the excuses people use for not entering missions. Unfortunately, Erin missed that session because she sprained her ankle in a lizard hole! However, it went well, and for those of you familiar with our struggles regarding health—Erin’s issues, Liam’s autism, and Joe’s heart condition, along with the financial challenges—we have had many reasons that some would consider valid excuses for not serving overseas. But Joe shared that despite all we have encountered, we still strongly believe that God has called us to serve, and we will continue to do so. We were told by several participants that they were very encouraged and inspired by our story and we hope it leads others to follow God as well.

Erin has continued to enjoy working with around 50 missionaries so far this year, each facing different health issues. Several families are scheduling weekly appointments for ongoing coaching, which has been beneficial given that healthcare options here aren’t great. She is still doing therapy with Liam and will start homeschooling again in August.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement as we continue this journey. Your love and well-wishes mean the world to us! We can’t wait to share more stories and updates as we continue to explore and serve here.
Prayer Requests
- Please pray for God to increase our support! Currently, our support stands at 60%, and with our medical bills, this has been a struggle. We are praying that God will enable us to pay everything off within the next two years. Thankfully, God has been providing extra income through Erin’s vitamin shop and her part-time health coaching in the U.S for us to continue to be able to serve here in Brazil.
- Continue to pray for us as we serve and build relationships, that we do everything with joy, patience, and kindness. We also ask for growth in our faith and a closer walk with the Lord.
- Please pray for our kids as they continue to adjust and that they can learn more Portuguese this school year. For Liam and his therapies, so that he would be able to speak with others again.
- Pray for Erin’s ankle to heal well and for patience during the process.
Thank You,
The Suttle Family
