I can hardly believe it. This is a milestone we’ve been working toward for seven long years, and we are so thankful to see God bring us to this point. It will be such a relief to finally have those cards in our hands.

Later this month we’ll be traveling to southern Brazil to complete the final steps, have our documents processed, and get our permanent residency cards printed.

One special prayer request for this trip is for Liam. He will need to be fingerprinted, sign paperwork, and have an identification photo taken—without his hood. (Gulp!) He hasn’t removed his hood in front of anyone in over four years. We genuinely don’t know if he’ll be able to do it, and we don’t know if there will be any flexibility or accommodations for him. Please pray that God would give him peace, reduce his anxiety and stress, and help him through the process. If he simply cannot comply, please pray that God would provide another way.

Please also continue praying for Joe and all of his responsibilities. Taking time away for this trip will put him even further behind, and with some of his equipment currently broken, many tasks have to be done by hand, making everything take much longer. We would especially appreciate prayer that God would provide an automatic folder someday. When you’re printing 500 books with well over 100 pages each, hand-folding every single one is an enormous job! Occasionally someone is able to help, but everyone serving here is already carrying a full workload.

One fun highlight this month was having a missions team visit. Joe enjoyed spending time with them, sharing about his ministry here and serving as their translator while taking them shopping around Manaus.

Erin also had the privilege of working with over a dozen missionary families this past month, helping them navigate a variety of health concerns. It continues to be a joy to serve missionaries in this way and help them stay healthy for the work God has called them to.

Prayer Requests

Safe travels and final visa process. Pray for smooth travel, favor throughout the final visa appointments, and that everything would go smoothly.
