Living in a big city has presented us with a different context than we are used to, and different context than we were trained for. Though different, we still hold to the same Biblical principles and church planting values. These principles and values apply both to remote “rural” ministry, and to city “urban” ministry.
An important value for us is the importance of “whole story” ministry. Both evangelism and church-strengthening are done effectively when the Bible is presented as one story, with one big theme (Jesus). Now that we live in the city, and there are a lot of churches and ministries around us, we are trying to connect with these churches and see how we can do “whole story” ministry together.
These pictures are of a recent seminar we held here in the city. Four of us shared the philosophy behind “whole story” ministry and then we started teaching the lessons. Holding a seminar is only a small step in building meaningful relationships with church leaders, pastors and mission leaders who are working toward using some of our materials and applying the principles in their contexts.
Please pray for the 20+ attendees of the seminar. The second day of the seminar will be next week. Please also pray for the four of us organizing, connecting, preparing and communicating not only at the seminars, but also in our follow-up relationships with these attendees and the ministries they represent.
