Well, we’ve been in Virginia now for about three weeks and things have been going terrific. There are so many people to see and visit that I’m not sure we’ll have time for all them. But we have managed to block off some time for what has become one of my favorite past times…A HOG ROAST!!! Thats right, anyone who has ever been to one of these glorious events knows what I’m talking about. We will start by selecting only the choicest of swine for our feast and then pour a wonderful BBQ sauce like concoction over it and then shut it up in a cooker at 225 degrees for 10-12 hours.
When it’s time to open that cooker, what once was a rather un-appetizing hunk of hog has taken on the attributes of what some say are the most wonderful aromas and flavors known to man. You think I’m exaggerating? Well,my friends, you are all invited to come partake, see, smell and taste for yourself this culinary masterpiece. The day is Saturday July 10th. The time is 5pm. The place is Jim and Martha Ritchie’s house. The requirements, an appetite and a side dish or dessert. Please come and enjoy the evening with us, eating and having a great time catching up. My good friends Scott and Christa Dysart will be co-hosting this event with us to show our appreciation for all who have encouraged us and supported us on our journeys to serve the Lord in Missions. I’ll even throw in a picture of our last hog roast to wet your appetites and to give you an idea of what you’re in for. Hope to see you there! It will be great fun.
