Allow me to introduce you to my family. I’m Josh, my wife Melody and our three daughters Sarah, Morgan, and Hannah. We are missionaries serving in Papua New Guinea in the South Pacific, “The Land of the Unexpected,” filling the role of Tech Specialist, which exists to assist our church planters in managing the physical aspects of furthering the gospel in remote locations. Our priority is serving and supporting the Church Planting effort in remote locations among the tribal peoples of Papua New Guinea. Missionaries in these remote locations face issues that aren’t encountered in developed countries. Whether they’re running on solar power or need a water purification solution, or designing and building their bush house, we strive to provide the technical help missionaries need to have an effective ministry.
I, Josh, am a Missouri native and chose to serve my country out of High School in 1996, which took me ultimately to Norfolk, Virginia where I served for 10 years. I was saved in 1998 through an outreach ministry to serviceman in the area and from then on felt the Lord was calling me into full time Christian service, though I wasn’t sure what kind, or to where He would send me. My wife, Melody, is a native of Norfolk, and was saved at an early age through a drama her Mom did in her back yard VBS. After High-school she studied at Bryan College in Tennessee. She then went on to work for a ministry that focused on equipping youth pastors in Chattanooga area. We met in February 2002 and were married in October. In 2009 we decided to give our lives to the work of spreading the Gospel and joined New Tribes Mission. We started training in 2009 and finished in 2011.
In 2012 we arrived in PNG for our first term filling the role of Tech Specialist. This ministry fits us to a tee. With our spiritual gifts and love of relating to people, God placed us exactly where we could have the greatest impact. Now, fast forward to present day with more than 12 years of overseas service under our belts, we are more excited today about what God is doing in Papua New Guinea than ever before. After seeing how lives are being changed through the ministry of the Holy Spirit working in the hearts of men and women we are continually challenged to work hard so we don’t miss out on being part of reaching the next tribe!
