We are excited to announce the
birth of our son, Mason Carter!
This Christmas we are rejoicing and thanking God for our precious newborn son and reminded of the Father’s goodness and blessing which He generously gave in the sending of His son!
As we tell our kids about that good news of Jesus, His redeeming grace and the hope of salvation, it’s a humbling reminder of those who have yet to hear and receive that hope and have no story to tell their children of the joy set before them.
We are so grateful for these past few months we have been able to spend back home in the States with friends and family. We have been blessed in many ways by the generosity of the body of Christ and have been able to soak in the wonders of God’s creative work seen in the ocean, mountains and rivers here in beautiful northern California. We have been refreshed by the cool weather which is so foreign to us in Papua and have even been able to play in the snow! But even as we look forward to Christmas, our thoughts are beginning to shift to the upcoming transition back to Papua.
In The Months Ahead
Please be keeping our family in your prayers over the next 2 1/2 months as we travel around to 9 different churches, updating our supporters and raising funds for our move back to Papua as a family of six! It’s so exciting to think that we’re only months away from moving into a remote village to begin the work of learning their language with the goal of one day soon sharing the good news that we celebrate this season- Immanuel, God With Us!
It’s hard to imagine what life will be like- living in a tribal village while learning the people’s language and culture. So our thoughts rest consistently on being reminded of all the Lord has done for us- remembering that the Lord is before us, preparing the way and drawing us closer into a deeper relationship with Himself. We are learning to guard ourselves from being halted or discouraged by fear or anxiety of the unknown. As we learn this life-lesson we urge and plead to you, the body, to uphold us in prayer to stay strong, ever relying upon the Father for our strength and help.
