{"id":194,"date":"2018-07-21T18:02:08","date_gmt":"2018-07-21T23:02:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/?p=194"},"modified":"2018-07-21T18:02:08","modified_gmt":"2018-07-21T23:02:08","slug":"new-ish-and-hot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/2018\/07\/21\/new-ish-and-hot\/","title":{"rendered":"New (-ish) and Hot!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>God has been showing His faithfulness and generosity in ways that even I cannot miss!\u00a0 MANY of you were challenged and responded to Tamara&#8217;s post on Facebook about things falling apart.\u00a0 THANK YOU!\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Through some MASSIVELY GENEROUS gifts, we were sent on a scavenger hunt for a vehicle that was &#8220;appropriate&#8221; for our family.\u00a0 We serve in Michigan, and those of you who deal with Michigan vehicles know that anything older than 3 years has already started rusting away.\u00a0 We wanted to avoid that&#8230; AND there are 8 of us, AND there is winter to drive in.\u00a0 So, through a former student (and friend!) in Arizona we found this gem!<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_196\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-196\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-196\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/files\/2018\/07\/34700784_2109653549049393_485988558998339584_n-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/files\/2018\/07\/34700784_2109653549049393_485988558998339584_n-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/files\/2018\/07\/34700784_2109653549049393_485988558998339584_n-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/files\/2018\/07\/34700784_2109653549049393_485988558998339584_n-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/files\/2018\/07\/34700784_2109653549049393_485988558998339584_n-125x94.jpg 125w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/files\/2018\/07\/34700784_2109653549049393_485988558998339584_n-250x188.jpg 250w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/files\/2018\/07\/34700784_2109653549049393_485988558998339584_n-337x253.jpg 337w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/files\/2018\/07\/34700784_2109653549049393_485988558998339584_n.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-196\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">NO RUST! and &#8220;only&#8221; 179k miles!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>With the exception of the AC compressor quitting 370 miles into the 1800 mile trip back to Michigan, the ride was quite &#8220;pleasant.&#8221; And yes, I do mean ridiculously HOT!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve got to be honest here, I was really tempted to think that I could worry myself back home in better shape.\u00a0 I packed 50lbs of tools and a sleeping bag, thinking that if I prepared enough for the worst case, I&#8217;d at least be ready for something less.\u00a0 I know, I&#8217;m ridiculous.\u00a0 \u00a0The whole way home, God was faithful to remind me that this was all His doing.\u00a0 I didn&#8217;t have the money to replace the old ride, I didn&#8217;t have the time to find this one,\u00a0 I couldn&#8217;t know what was REALLY hiding behind the years on the vehicle until I got there, I couldn&#8217;t know that I would meet some fabulous brothers and sisters in Christ, and I ALSO couldn&#8217;t know about the generosity of them halfway across the US.\u00a0 SO. MANY. THINGS. THAT.
