{"id":252,"date":"2020-09-11T13:48:18","date_gmt":"2020-09-11T18:48:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/?p=252"},"modified":"2020-09-11T13:48:19","modified_gmt":"2020-09-11T18:48:19","slug":"back-to-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/joshua-mathew\/2020\/09\/11\/back-to-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Back to school&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>WELL.&nbsp; What a couple of weeks it has been in our house\u2026&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSchool\u201d has started for our kids and they\u2019re not exactly huge fans of the, &#8220;this new thing.&#8221;\u00a0 But, then again, who is?\u00a0 It is proving to be a often confusing challenge.  And it is proving to be an opportunity to practice patience.  Blech!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bible school classes kicked off just last weekend in Wisconsin, at \u201cEBI 2.0\u201d\u00a0 Enrollment was lower than usual, of course, there\u2019s only one campus and Covid-19.\u00a0 But they are SO FULL that they had to ask some students to take classes online!\u00a0 This is not the ideal, and we\u2019re all trying to adjust as much as possible to make things work, right?\u00a0 In spite of all that is happening in the crazy world around us, it is reassuring to see that God\u2019s work is not slowing down!\u00a0 Currently, there are 180 students on the campus and obviously your prayers for health safety would be greatly appreciated!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had the opportunity to read a new-ish edition of the history of NTM\/ Ethnos360.&nbsp; You should really check it out!&nbsp; If you\u2019re interested, let me know\u2026&nbsp; There\u2019s a section that is talking about how early mission leaders were pondering how we might continue in light of the devastating loss of some of the very first missionaries into the Ayore people.&nbsp; The news that Cecil, George, Eldon, Robert and David were missing led many to ask, \u201c If these men are dead, what will you do?\u201d&nbsp; The founder\u2019s response was classic.&nbsp; <em>\u201cWhen one is abandoned to the Lord Jesus\u2014not to a \u2018cause\u2019 or \u2018program,\u2019 but simply to the Lord Himself\u2014then to that individual it matters not whether he be placed in a wheelchair, a hospital bed or prison cell, in a darkened corner where men never see him, or whether he be set on a pedestal where he may preach Christ before the multitudes. It becomes simply a matter of being a \u2018bond slave\u2019 to the Lord Jesus\u2026\u201d <\/em>\u201cWhat will you do?\u201d is man\u2019s question.&nbsp; God\u2019s command is the same: \u201cGo and preach the gospel to every creature.\u201d (Mk. 16:15)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As I look back at my personal responses to the experiences over the last year, I have noticed a lazy willingness by many (often myself included!) to be suckered into the statistical arguments and the political debate.\u00a0 It\u2019s SO EASY to forget that we are only here for a little bit of time, and that SO many are still dying with NO KNOWLEDGE of CHRIST.\u00a0 I\u2019ve been reminded over the last several days of that line in Paul\u2019s message from God to the young church in Philippi.\u00a0 He\u2019s been talking about the priceless value of KNOWING Christ and how he counts all \u201cthe things\u201d worthless compared to the righteousness through faith in Christ. \u00a0As Paul writes about the beautiful prize that will be rewarded to those who have stayed focused on the race to the gates of Heaven, he uses that phrase, \u201ccitizens of heaven.\u201d\u00a0 We are just visiting this planet and this time and we only have a moment to impact those around us with the Good News that Christ paid the price to cover over our sins!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Ministry Partner Development update<\/strong>:\u00a0 We have seen how God has been working behind the scenes!\u00a0 We knew He was there and moving in your lives through The Spirit and The Word, but it is ALWAYS reassuring to see the effects!\u00a0 Since our July \u201cstart\u201d  date, we have seen God bring in new prayer partners and rekindle dormant relationships, and we have seen new financial partners join our team as well!\u00a0 It has been exciting and encouraging to see God dismantling the hurdles and obstacles to our future ministry plans.\u00a0 This doesn\u2019t mean that we are almost done, though\u2026\u00a0 We still NEED, we need!
