We Had No Car!

April 28, 2011 by Justin Rees

Our departure was scheduled and our speaking engagements set. We had spent the required $1600 to our super reliable Saturn Vue ready for our upcoming long road trip. The day after receiving it from the mechanic we had a complete Transmission failure. After getting the preliminary diagnoses and the cost of repair somewhere in the ballpark of $5000 we realized the Lord was gearing us up for an interesting next few months. With about 9 days till our leaving we began to seek the Lord’s wisdom on what we should do. After deciding against spending the money to fix the car, the mechanic giving us ‘his cost’ to fix it and then deciding again to fix it for the $2000 he said he could do it for, so we waited. And, waited. And, waited. Until he finally told us he couldn’t find a part. So our planned date came and went. As we were beginning to feel bummed, a quote from a teacher of ours came to mind. “Man devises a way and God guides his steps”- R.Bruce. So our plan led us to facebook, text messaging, and lots of emails. And, you know what the Lord provided a car. In fact it was a Saturn Vue. It had all the room we needed for packing for the long (now) 6-7 week long road trip, we were calling our Tribal Tour. A big thanks to David and Crystal for their hearts for the lost Tribal groups of this world. We love you guys!
