I have witnessed language and culture come together as it is translated and put into a book, wrapped in love and presented to a people group. The Bisorio tribe has developed more than I ever dreamed when the work started years ago. Bob and George, like the apostle Paul was to the Thessalonian church, was well pleased to impart to them not just the gospel but their own lives. Why? Because the people had become dear to them. I remember their labour night and day learning the language and culture; brutal to me who finds language so hard to learn.
I was able to witness and God also, how devoutly and justly and blameless they behaved themselves among the village for years. I watched them as they exhorted and comforted and charged each one like a father does is own children. I thank God for the Bisorios because when they received the gospel in their own language and culture. They welcomed it not as the word of men but the Word of God which is working in them that believe so mightily today.
Now with all that what does it take to reach a people group with the gospel? It all starts before one walks into the language group and Paul says in Romans 12:1 that it is just the reasonable thing to do. “Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God.” If you are there give us a call and we can talk about God’s will and your life before Him.
