{"id":510,"date":"2013-02-28T12:13:10","date_gmt":"2013-02-28T16:13:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/katie-moore\/?p=510"},"modified":"2013-02-28T12:21:18","modified_gmt":"2013-02-28T16:21:18","slug":"time-to-call-for-back-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/katie-moore\/2013\/02\/28\/time-to-call-for-back-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Time to Call for Back-Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>The Power of Prayer<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>Our team has been reminded in the last few months of the importance of prayer.\u00a0 We need guidance.\u00a0 We need to be grateful.\u00a0 We need to remember our dependence on the Father.\u00a0 And we need to be in ceaseless communication in all of these things.\u00a0 John Piper once said that many Christians treat prayer like a shopping list, checking off items they want: health, a new car, or success on a test. \u00a0While God cares about those things, Piper pointed out that we are at war and prayer is a radio, our connection to the Commander\u2014the tool we use to call down power from on high.<\/p>\n<p>Our team extends beyond the tribe\u00a0to all the homes where this email is sent.\u00a0 We wanted to ask you to join us in taking these concerns before the Lord.\u00a0 We greatly appreciate the prayers of our brothers and sisters on our behalf, so thank you, in advance.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Personal Requests<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>My Knee:\u00a0 You might recall that several years ago I was having knee problems.\u00a0 My left knee continues to give me problems, and I am scheduled for surgery on March 2 with an American doctor here in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>My Grandmother:\u00a0 My dad\u2019s mother recently suffered a stroke and is in recovery.\u00a0 She is experiencing a lot of pain, difficulties communicating, and loss of movement in her right arm.\u00a0 It is hard to be so far away at this time and I thank you for your prayers on her behalf.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Team Requests<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Well: We continue on a steady course of wait-and-see with the drilling of a well in our village. \u00a0We\u2019ve had several false starts, but are hopeful that in March we will have clean, running water.\u00a0 Please pray for all the details involved in planning this venture, for safety on the road, and that the village will greatly benefit from clean water.<\/p>\n<p>Milo:\u00a0 Since last spring, Pete has been going through the Bible with Milo, a young man in our village whose first language is Spanish.\u00a0 Milo has been in the armed forces and traveled, but has many shared ideas with the Nahuatl as far as culture and worldview go. \u00a0He is tracking well with the lessons and we are asking that God would show him his need for salvation. \u00a0We know that his insights and witness could be a powerful part of the birth of the church in Las Moras.<\/p>\n<p>The Nahuatl:\u00a0 Needless to say, these people are constantly in our thoughts.\u00a0 We see the illness, the hunger, and the cold that affects them.\u00a0 We witness the fear that enslaves them.
