{"id":69,"date":"2009-10-23T22:51:12","date_gmt":"2009-10-24T02:51:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/katie-moore\/?p=69"},"modified":"2009-10-23T22:51:28","modified_gmt":"2009-10-24T02:51:28","slug":"early-morning-drama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/katie-moore\/2009\/10\/23\/early-morning-drama\/","title":{"rendered":"Early Morning Drama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This morning at 4:45 I sat up in bed to the sound of the truck alarm going off.\u00a0 I almost rolled over and went back to sleep, thinking, \u201cIt can\u2019t be our truck\u2026the sound is too far away.\u201d\u00a0 I jumped up to look out my window and reassure myself that, indeed, the truck was safe and sound, but I couldn\u2019t see it.\u00a0 I woke Alkires up and Dan went to check it out, confirming that, indeed someone had stolen the truck.\u00a0 You might recall that last year they had their Jeep stolen in Chihuahua, so part of my brain was thinking, \u201cGod, you\u2019ve got to be kidding here.\u201d\u00a0 We have been talking in Bible class about our identity in Christ and read a verse that assures us we are \u201cun-harmable\u201d\u00a0 (I John 5:18).\u00a0 That doesn\u2019t mean, naturally, that nothing happens to us, just that all things in our lives are okayed by a Father who loves us.\u00a0 I reminded myself of that truth as Sarah and I sat bleary-eyed at the table while we waited for Dan and two co-workers to check the streets and report back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Dan was running down the street in his slippers and spied the truck surrounded by several young men.\u00a0 They had the hood up and were yanking wires, trying to silence the alarm and get the truck running\u2026praise God a security kill-switch had shut down the truck after only a few blocks.\u00a0 The robbers yelled, \u201cHey, it\u2019s the American!\u201d and took off.\u00a0 We thank God for his protection of Dan, the safe retrieval of the truck, and for his overall care.\u00a0 We are, indeed, un-harmable and we cling to that this morning and even another morning if it turns out that the truck is gone for good.\u00a0 Sarah stated while we were waiting to hear news, \u201cIt is God\u2019s truck.\u00a0 He gave it to us.\u00a0 He can do whatever he wants with it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Please pray for our team.\u00a0 There have been two other incidents that affect our safety and we believe that the Enemy is trying to discourage our hearts as we get closer and closer to reaching the Nahuatl.\u00a0 Ask God to keep us and our equipment safe, but mostly pray that we maintain focus, the appropriate attitudes, and unity of purpose.\u00a0 We believe that we have an important task before us and don\u2019t want anything to get in our way!<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for your prayers and for partnering with us.\u00a0 In Him,<br \/>\nKatie Moore<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning at 4:45 I sat up in bed to the sound of the truck alarm going off.
