It seems like missionary life is full of travel.\u00a0 Especially life on furlough.<\/p>\n

I can’t believe it was only September when we were leaving our tribal home for a time in the US.<\/p>\n

\"We<\/a>
We girls, along with a dog and a cat, flew out of the village<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

After getting on a slightly bigger plane, I arrived in upstate New York, where my dad’s family lives.<\/p>\n

\"Spending<\/a>
Spending time with my grandmother in New York<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"??????????\"<\/a>
Enjoying fall and buying flowers with my uncle.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

From there, I took a bus to Massachusetts, where I got to share about the work with the Nahuatl with some dear friends and supporters.<\/p>\n

Hanging out with some great friends and eating sushi<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"The<\/a>
The “gang” in Massachusetts bought me this amazing winter jacket…and just in time. I put it on at the bus station on the way back to New York.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Next stop:\u00a0Ontario, Canada, where I spent the night with some\u00a0friends from\u00a0long ago.\u00a0 It was so great to re-connect!<\/p>\n

I know the Smith family from my time in South America, and even taught some of their kids in elementary, Jr. High, and highschool. I must be getting old!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

From there, I headed to Michigan, where I am staying for the bulk of my home assignment time.<\/p>\n

My sister and brother-in-law have graciously allowed me to stay in their home<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"I<\/a>
I got to visit with my mom’s parents for a bit before they headed to Florida for the winter<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I took a trip to southern Michigan to visit my brother and spend time with some other friends from South America, the Coes.<\/p>\n

It was fun to catch up with friends from my childhood<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"These<\/a>
These boys pray for our team and one of them even gave me a cool homemade airplane!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

When I got back to my sister’s house, I got a job offer as\u00a0a bilingual reading interventionist at her school.\u00a0 I was excited about this opportunity to make some extra money to help with all my traveling!<\/p>\n

Headed to work at Roguewood Elementary<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Soon enough, the weather started changing, so I decided it was time to get in one more road trip before the snow started falling.\u00a0 Off to Missouri!<\/p>\n

All too soon, fall gave way to winter in Michigan<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

\"With<\/a>
I was grateful to see Dan and Sarah again, and got to share about the Nahuatl with their small group<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"It<\/a>
It was good to catch up with the Morses, my adopted family in Missouri<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I got back to Michigan just in time to hang out with my family.\u00a0 My parents arrived from Florida for Thanksgiving and it has been wonderful to be together again.<\/p>\n

Thanksgiving looked more like Christmas this year in Michigan.\u00a0 We have had record snow falls for November, so I will take a little break from traveling while the roads are icy.\u00a0 Soon enough, though, I’ll be off to Indiana, Traverse City, Florida, Colombia (yes, the country!), and Wisconsin.\u00a0 And that’s just part of what I have planned for the rest of this time in the US, so for now I’m going to hunker down out of the cold and enjoy time with my family.<\/p>\n
