He Came to Save<\/p>\n
\u201cHere is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance:
\nChrist Jesus came into the world to save sinners\u2026\u201d \u2013 1 Timothy 1:15a (NIV)<\/p>\n
Once upon their darkest night
\nThe shepherds woke to brilliant, magnificent light.
\nA heavenly messenger appeared to them
\nSaying, \u201cHe\u2019s born tonight; the One who saves from sin!\u201d<\/p>\n
From the mountain they ran down
\nTo find this One in Bethlehem Town.
\nWhat they had heard they tried to give
\nTo the mother and father, \u201cHe is here that all may live!\u201d<\/p>\n
In her heart the mother, Mary, thought,
\n\u201cThis matches the news the angel had brought.\u201d
\nTo her, nine months before he appeared to say,
\n\u201cName Him Jesus, for from sin He comes to save.\u201d<\/p>\n
He Himself explained the same
\nTo Nicodemus when he came.
\nJesus said, \u201cFor God so loved the world He gave
\nHis Son through death from sin to save.\u201d<\/p>\n
From the manger to the cross,
\nIn many ways and words He taught.
\nHe was the Messenger that God gave
\nTo tell the news, \u201cFrom sin I came save.\u201d<\/p>\n
True to His word, on the cross He died
\nTo purchase sinners far and wide.
\nFrom every tribe and tongue they come,
\nBought by the blood of God\u2019s only Son.<\/p>\n
Now, His messengers are we
\nWho His salvation have received.
\nTo tell to all the news He gave:
\n\u201cJesus came, from sin to save.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are therefore Christ\u2019s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ\u2019s behalf: Be reconciled to God.\u201d \u2013 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV)<\/p>\n
