None other could become their Savior. Only the self-existent, eternal, holy, all-powerful Sovereign could rescue them. And He alone could enact the rescue plan to redeem our souls. Thus, when the angels proclaimed the very first Christmas message to the shepherds, they echoed that truth: \u201cFor there is born to you this day in the city of David\u00a0a Savior,\u00a0who is Christ the Lord.\u201d (Luke 2:11)<\/p>\n<p>And once the shepherds met Him, those were the words they spread to others: \u201cNow when they had seen\u00a0Him,\u00a0they made\u00a0widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child.\u201d (Luke 2:17)<\/p>\n<p>Let us also \u201cmake widely known\u201d (to all peoples everywhere) that God\u2019s rescue from sin is in Jesus alone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>God had spoken these words through Isaiah, the prophet, about the Redeemer of Israel: \u201cI,\u00a0even\u00a0I,\u00a0am\u00a0the\u00a0Lord, and besides Me\u00a0there is\u00a0no savior.\u201d (Isaiah 43:11) Yahweh was their only hope.
