If you live west of the Mississippi, there is a good chance we will be in your area sometime this summer.\u00a0 It has been four years since we were able to get out to California to update our home churches there, so for seven weeks we will be traveling and visiting supporters, family and friends.\u00a0 If you have not heard from us, we may not have your current phone or email address.\u00a0 We would love to hear from you, too; and will try to visit if possible.\u00a0 Here is our itinerary so far:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

36 students graduated from the Bible college here in Jackson, MI, this spring.\u00a0 It is always encouraging to hear their testimonies of how God has \u201cgrown them up\u201d through the study and application of His Word.\u00a0 Based on past statistics, 1\/3 will end up serving with New Tribes Mission overseas.\u00a0 Others serve with other mission boards, in \u201cclosed\u201d countries, or return to serve in their home churches.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Two such graduates were Mike and Jessica.\u00a0 They got married after graduation and stayed on as interns.\u00a0 The extra time here allowed them to get established as a couple and begin the citizenship process for Jessica (a Canadian).\u00a0 Mike served with Ken in foodservice at the Bible school, and Andrea was incredibly blessed to have Jessica as a co-worker in the Childcare department.\u00a0 We will miss them as they continue on to Missionary Training Center in the fall.<\/span><\/p>\n

As for our family, our youngest just turned five and will be starting kindergarten in the fall.\u00a0 Homeschooling our 12-yr.-old has been a good year overall, but a bit overwhelming for me (Andrea); also since my experience is primarily with younger children we have decided he will be better off returning to a classroom setting in the fall.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Thanks for your prayers.\u00a0 We are so privileged to get to work with so many young people and young families that are serious about wanting to be part of what God is doing in the world.\u00a0 As an MK (\u201cmissionary kid\u201d) himself, Ken has a special place in his heart for the students who have grown up overseas.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n
