{"id":251,"date":"2016-11-30T13:15:06","date_gmt":"2016-11-30T18:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/kenneth-jack\/?p=251"},"modified":"2016-11-30T13:15:06","modified_gmt":"2016-11-30T18:15:06","slug":"serving-tribal-churches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/kenneth-jack\/2016\/11\/30\/serving-tribal-churches\/","title":{"rendered":"Serving Tribal Churches"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-252 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/kenneth-jack\/files\/2016\/11\/Seminary-Students-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"seminary-students\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/kenneth-jack\/files\/2016\/11\/Seminary-Students-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/kenneth-jack\/files\/2016\/11\/Seminary-Students-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/kenneth-jack\/files\/2016\/11\/Seminary-Students-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/kenneth-jack\/files\/2016\/11\/Seminary-Students.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>\u00a0 In July, Ken accompanied itinerant medical missionaries Dick and Leota Watterson to Honduras to help with construction needs at a seminary there. \u00a0Our church in Michigan supports three national couples who are graduates of this seminary and who are now church-planting among the Lenka people group.\u00a0 On Sunday he was able to travel into the mountains by bus to visit a church service among one of their newly-planted congregations.\u00a0 On weekdays he worked with concrete and cinderblocks to expand the pumphouse for the seminary\u2019s water supply; eating local foods with students and contributing to their evening English class were fun perks.<\/p>\n<p>Ken&#8217;s favorite story from the trip came at the end of Sunday&#8217;s sermon. \u00a0The missionary was finishing up his message in an outdoor setting, when someone obviously drunk ambled to the front of the meeting. \u00a0Ken rejoiced to see the maturity of this young pastor as he spoke graciously afterward, encouraging the drunk to trust Christ as Savior and turn to Jesus for healing from his addiction.
