With 80% of remaining unreached people groups now in countries actively opposed to Christian missionaries, we believe the new name will remove some barriers and stigmas for believers serving in these contexts.\u00a0 \u201cA thriving church for every people<\/u><\/strong>\u201d continues to be the core reason for our existence.\u00a0 (Note that \u201cEthnos\u201d is the Greek word for \u201cnations\u201d in Christ\u2019s great commission to \u201cmake disciples of all nations,\u201d and \u201c360\u201d referrers to the degrees of a full circle.) The picture above is of this spring’s graduating seniors. \u00a0We look forward to seeing where the Lord takes them from here. \u00a0In the ten years since we transferred from New Guinea to the Bible Training College, we have been privileged to see many couples and singles leave here to “take our place” overseas. \u00a0Of just those we have personally kept in touch with, six families have gone to tribes in PNG, five\u00a0are in missionary support roles in the US, two families are serving overseas under other mission boards, two couples accepted church pastorates, and 11\u00a0couples and singles are missionaries to unreached people groups in other countries.<\/p>\n Thanks for praying . . . 2. Sarah\u2019s Braces and our Side Jobs<\/strong> \u2013 Several people have been so sweet to write and send gifts!\u00a0 Braces (and payment due) is set for August 16th<\/sup>, and now that Ken\u2019s mowing jobs are increasing we should be able to come up with the couple hundred remaining.\u00a0 Andrea\u2019s last day at the evening cleaning job will be Aug. 18th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Depending on how our support-raising goes this summer may determine whether or not she looks for something else later with different hours.\u00a0 At any rate, we look forward to being free to have dinner guests again and enjoy evening family times.<\/p>\n 3. May 27-June 3 \u2013 May 28th<\/sup><\/strong> at 6pm \u2013 We will be speaking at Elmira Baptist Church in Northern California.\u00a0 We also plan to visit Andrea’s grandmother and\u00a0follow up on some new contacts. \u00a0(Thanks to Andrea’s parents for staying with the kids to make this quick trip possible.) \u00a0Your prayers are appreciated; support-raising is part of being able to serve with Ethnos360, but we would much rather spend time\u00a0doing our ministries than promoting them.<\/p>\n
