That&#8217;s the largest  denomination available and is difficult to change here in the mountains.  Consequently we don\u2019t like to give that kind of change but we\u2019re leaving here  soon and furthermore, he wanted to buy a Bible. How could we  refuse!?<\/p>\n<p>As I was counting out  change we started asking each other \u2013 <strong><em>\u201cwhere did Mansumintik, of all people, come up  with a thousand peso bill?\u201d<\/em><\/strong><strong><em> <\/em><\/strong>Of course right off the  bat we thought \u201cillegal logging!\u201d Where else can they get that kind of money  around here?<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->So, as i was giving him  his change I\u2019m thinking &#8220;this is from logs&#8221; but I didn\u2019t  ask.<\/p>\n<p>He was just about to  leave and he turned and started sharing with me how he got that  money.<\/p>\n<dl>\n<dt>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1018\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1018\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1018\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/lance-ostman\/files\/2010\/02\/wild-pig-small-pic.jpg\" alt=\"... he was almost bit by the pig caught in the snare trap!\" width=\"250\" height=\"167\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1018\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">... he was almost bit by the pig caught in the snare trap!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<p>He said,<em> <\/em><strong><em>\u201cI&#8217;ve been asking God for the money to  purchase a Bible. A voice kept telling me not to worry about it.\u201d<\/em><\/strong> He explained how he kept hearing this voice telling him that the provision for a  Bible was close.<\/p>\n<p>He didn\u2019t understand how that could be. He is very poor  and to him it was <strong>&#8220;impossible!&#8221;<\/strong> But, as he was walking, he was checking his pig traps. The one he was  approaching didn\u2019t show any sign of having anything in it as there were no  tracks leading up to it. As  soon as he stepped into the area he had to jump back for he was almost bit by a  pig caught in the snare trap!<\/p>\n<p>He  butchered it and took the meat to a neighboring village and sold it 2300 pesos!  (That is a lot of money for these people!)<\/p>\n<p>I had shared earlier  that morning in their fellowship meeting about God b<\/p>\n<p>being <strong>all-powerful<\/strong> and how we  really don\u2019t believe that. We worry about one thing or another and the thought  that God is all-powerful does not come to mind in the midst of our trials.<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t realize how much <strong>the Creator of the universe loves us and  wants to meet our every need<\/strong>. Mansumintik told me how this was a blessing to  him and it was fresh on his mind that God is indeed <strong>ALL POWERFUL!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I stand  rebuked!<\/p>\n<p>We covet your prayers  for us as we prepare for our home assignment (a.k.a furlough). There is a lot to  do before we close up our house next week.<\/p>\n<p>Lord willing we arrive March  3rd in Florida and we&#8217;ll be making our way north to be with Justin and Nicole in  mid March. She is hoping to schedule her C-Section for April 2.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please pray <\/strong>for us as we adjust to  being back in the US and as we shop for a reliable vehicle.
