Greetings from our jungle village. It\u2019s hard to believe that our time here is rapidly coming to a close! Our hearts are filled with gratitude for each of you who partner with us so we can do what we do. In our last update, we asked for prayer for Lance\u2019s leg. He was experiencing some numbness. Praise God the numbness is gone!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

House repairs<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Whoever said that missionary work is 90 percent physical knew what they were talking about. Little did we know when we arrived in February what this year\u2019s visit would look like. It was a shock to come home to a house that wasn\u2019t livable! And yet as I type this, we praise the Lord that He has allowed us to get most of the repairs done. We\u2019ve generally had men available to work and lumber to work with. If you’re on Facebook, you can click here to see pictures of our house repair.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Translation<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Even without the house repairs, I knew that I wasn\u2019t going to finish Ezekiel. It\u2019s 48 chapters with a lot of hard-to-translate concepts. We were however able to finish the rough draft and initial checking of chapters 1 through 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

12 Graduates – 40 baptized<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We were very encouraged earlier this month by news from the Higaunon leadership seminar that took place in one of the outreach villages. More than 150 attended including wives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Higaunon church has developed a successful two-year discipleship program. During the seminar, they honored 12 graduates from the program. The main pastor here shared with us recently that the main problem isn\u2019t finding places to work; it\u2019s finding people to do the work. These graduates will be working in an area where several villages have asked for someone to come and teach them God\u2019s Word! Praise the Lord for this provision, and please pray that more will soon be available to go to other areas with the gospel. Even as I work on this update, one of the Bible teachers messaged asking for prayer because there are many villages without any gospel witness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next few weeks…<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our departure date from the village is May 25. We will be celebrating Laura\u2019s birthday, and I will be seeing the dentist. On June 3, we head to Manila and arrive around the same time as our coworkers, Ron and Michelle Jennings, who are returning from their home assignment. We look forward to catching up with them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our organizational meetings are June 6-10 outside Manila. There will be 170 in attendance. And finally, we leave for the U.S. late on June 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
