{"id":13,"date":"2008-11-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2008-11-30T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2008-12-11T08:53:37","modified_gmt":"2008-12-11T13:53:37","slug":"indonesian-thanksgiving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/lawrence-elroy\/?p=13","title":{"rendered":"Indonesian Thanksgiving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--StartImportPhoto--><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/lawrence-elroy\/files\/2008\/11\/1840_49485.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-104\" style=\"margin-right: 10px;margin-bottom: 5px\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/lawrence-elroy\/files\/2008\/11\/1840_49485.jpg\" alt=\"Thanksgiving Grub\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a><!--EndImportPhoto--><\/p>\n<p>Although we were not back in the U.S. with family, we appreciate our local family here.&nbsp; Many of our friends pitched in and helped cook, bake, and of course us men did our part&#8230; eating the food!&nbsp; We thank the Lord for his abundant provision of almost all the trimmings.&nbsp; We were all encouraged as we thanked the Lord for pumpkin pie, macaroni, and other familiar delights.&nbsp; Most importantly, friends to spend the time with.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Although we had plans for how the day would go, our plans were altered by a power outage.&nbsp; Since our ovens are LPG, this didn&#8217;t hinder most cooking.&nbsp; Some of our lady cooks were planning on using electric ovens, but apparently they were not deterred.&nbsp; Just before the big get-together the power returned.&nbsp; Yes, this allowed us to watch a little television also.&nbsp;<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, we were able to find a &#8220;bird&#8221; here in Indonesia.
